Tokyo can be reached in 95 minutes by the Shinkansen Bullet Train, Osaka in only 52 minutes. Construction of the magnetically-levitated Linear Chuo Express is also underway. This new train service, a safer and more environmentally friendly transportation system of the coming age, will connect Tokyo and Osaka by way of Nagoya in one hour, at a stunning speed of 500km/hour. Aichi-Nagoya is highly active in pursuing full implementation of the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), which will contribute greatly toward minimizing traffic accidents and congestion, as well as toward creating a new sphere in the information and communications industry.
